"The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science."

— Albert Einstein, The World as I See It, 1931

I'm Robert Nguyen, 28 year-old in Paris, France.
Working as a digital designer, I now practice user-centered design principles basing design decisions on user needs and business goals.

I enjoy turning complex problems into simple, beautiful and intuitive interface designs, and making rapid prototyping for rich Internet applications and mobile devices. When I'm not scribbling on a paper, you'll find me travelling around taking pictures.

I am a music enthusiast, and started a cool vinyl collection. I practiced the piano for 16 years (Diplôme d'Études Musicales), clarinet for 6 years (Brevet de fin 2ème cycle) and I now have a new girlfriend: my cello.

I am also interested about psychology, architecture, and sustainable design. That's why I've created an non-profit organization called La Manufacturette, and lead two distinct projects.

TinyBox x Hömii — Less is More

  • TinyBox
  • Homii
The non-profit organization "La Manufacturette" encourage people to a less cluttered/simpler lifestyle and raise their awareness about ecological impacts.

We decided to join the Tiny House adventure, created the TinyBox project then launched it on a french platform KissKissBankBank. The TinyBox has been nominated "Coup de Coeur de La Banque Postale". After our successful crowdfunding campaign, the TinyBox is currently under construction, near Nantes, in France.

Hömii is an upcoming application for building our futures houses, with local craftsmen. It takes an inventory of all existing materials and new innovations for a sustainable housing using ecologically-sound materials and renewable.

Thinking about sustainable design is for me important as we live in a rapidly changing world: economic and environmental forces continuously beg us to re-evaluate our way of living, and re-design on the earth.
